Profit Rhino and Housecall Pro: how the price book gets in
Short answer: Profit Rhino and Housecall Pro can work together, but the connection is a file import you run yourself, not a button that syncs the two. We haven’t found a native integration that moves Profit Rhino’s tasks into your Housecall Pro price book automatically, so budget for the mapping work.
If you run Housecall Pro and you’re weighing Profit Rhino, this is what the path in looks like, the questions worth asking before you pay, and when a one-time rebuild of the book you already have is the simpler route. Last reviewed October 2026.
What “works with Housecall Pro” usually means
Housecall Pro keeps your prices in a price book of Services and Materials, and it takes new rows in through a CSV import. A flat-rate vendor that “supports” Housecall Pro almost always means one of three things, and they are very different jobs for you.
- A live sync. The vendor pushes tasks and price changes into your account. This is the version you’re hoping for, and the one to ask for in writing, because we haven’t found it described for Profit Rhino.
- An export that matches the importer. The vendor hands you a CSV already laid out the way Housecall Pro expects. You still run the import, but the mapping is done.
- A generic export. You get a spreadsheet of tasks and prices and reshape it yourself. This is the most work, and where most import failures come from.
Which of the three you get from Profit Rhino is a question for their sales team, not for us. Their published position can change, so ask for a demo of the actual import, not a feature list.
The import path, step by step
Whatever Profit Rhino hands you, the last mile is the same Housecall Pro import. This is what it takes to do it without wrecking the book you already have.
- Export your current book first. That file is your way back if anything loads wrong. Our export guide walks through it.
- Map the columns.Match Profit Rhino’s task name, category, price and cost fields to Housecall Pro’s Services and Materials layout.
- Check for duplicates. If a Profit Rhino task has the same name as one of your services, you end up with two prices for one job.
- Import a small test. Load five or ten rows, open them in Housecall Pro, and confirm names, prices and costs landed where you expected.
- Then load the rest. Our Housecall Pro import guide has the full steps, and the import errors guide covers what to do when the importer rejects a row.
What to ask Profit Rhino before you buy
- Is there a live Housecall Pro sync, or a file? Get the answer in writing, with the date.
- Can you show me an import into a Housecall Pro account? Ask to watch it, using a book your size.
- What happens to services I already have? Update, skip, or duplicate.
- What do I do when prices change? Another export and import, or something automatic.
- Who does the mapping? You, their onboarding team, or a paid setup add-on.
On cost: published list prices run $179+/month as of July 2026, and the quote depends on plan and tech count. Our Profit Rhino pricing breakdown shows what that adds up to over a year.
When you may not need a catalog at all
A task library helps when you’re starting from nothing or running a big multi-truck operation that uses the content every day. A lot of Housecall Pro shops are in a different spot: they already have a book, built over years, and the problem is that the prices in it are too low. Importing a catalog on top of that book means reconciling two sets of services before the margins get better.
For that shop, fixing the existing book is a shorter path. PriceTuneupdoes the Margin-Right Rebuild on your own export, resets prices to your target margins, and hands back import-verified CSVs. If you’re comparing the whole field of Housecall Pro options, price book software for Housecall Pro lays them out side by side, and the Profit Rhino alternative page covers the small-shop case.
Whichever way you go, look at your own book before buying anyone’s prices. The free Margin Leak Finder reads your Housecall Pro export in your browser, and shows which line items sit below your target margin.
